10-year-old treated after ATV crash
MONROE TOWNSHIP – On June 1, at 3:39 p.m., the Coshocton County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call of a single ATV accident involving a 10-year-old juvenile. Once on scene it was determined that the male juvenile, who was not wearing a safety helmet, was traveling south on Monroe Township Road 30, north of Monroe Township Road 334, when he lost control of his ATV and went off the left side of the road and down an embankment.
The other ATV riders in his group noticed that he was no longer behind them and turned around. Once EMS was able to treat the patient it was decided that he was going to be flown to Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, but was released later that day. Assisting deputies at the scene was the Walhonding Valley Fire Department, Coshocton County EMS and MedFlight.
