Mizer retiring from United Way
After 11 years of working for the United Way of Coshocton, Lyn Mizer will be retiring.
She is among 11 others who have been the face of the United Way since 1978, although she has been here longer than any other director. “I am honored to have been a part of such a devoted team of board members and partner program leaders and volunteers who are the best of the best of Coshocton. To work with and for great people all united by serving Coshocton has been a blessing and privilege,” Mizer said.
The United Way Board has been hard at work to find her replacement so that a seamless transition happens. There will be some overlap so that Mizer can introduce her successor to the many people who volunteer for United Way. Mizer knows that the success of United Way is based largely on trust and transparency so that donors understand where their hard-earned donations go and the benefits they produce. “By taking time to introduce him to those champions in the work places who are tasked with running their UW campaign, they will get to see that they are in great hands and that he will be available to them whenever he is needed,” Mizer said. “Coshocton will be in good hands.”
Steve Oster, United Way Board President said, “Lyn has been a stable force for United Way and the community for a very long time. She cares about people, agencies and the individuals who live in Coshocton County. Her heart and passion shine through every day and she will be missed. United Way is strong because of her dedication and commitment to the community.”
Mizer said, “I will miss being a part of that network of services that grows health and prosperity, but more importantly I will miss the people behind the scenes working to grow Coshocton. I am proud to call those people my friends.”
