Coshocton salutes veterans

COSHOCTON – The Coshocton Memorial Day Parade and Services were held May 26. The parade worked its way down Main Street and then speakers on the court square were River View High School Voice of Democracy Speaker, Freshman Kamery Wolford and Ken Smailes, News Director WTNS & Local Historian. World War II veterans were invited to attend for a special recognition and Irwin Gibson also was presented with an award from France for his role in World War II.

I started my journalism career in 2002 with a daily newspaper chain. After various stops with them, I am happy to be back home! I graduated from Coshocton High School in 1998 and received a Bachelor of Arts in Communication in 2002 from Walsh University. I also earned several awards while working for daily papers, including being honored by Coshocton County’s veterans for the stories I wrote about them.
