Donald E. Slaughter

Donald E. Slaughter, 91, of West Lafayette passed away at Signature Health Care on Tuesday July 7, 2020.

Don was born in Coshocton County on November 14, 1928 to the late Sumner and Mary (Johnson) Slaughter. He was a Corporal in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. In his earlier years, he owned and operated Marathon here in Coshocton and then had a lawnmower repair shop with his brother George.

Don is survived by his two children Donnis (Aimee) Slaughter and Donna (Ron) Sheneman both of Coshocton; grandchildren Evan (Travis) Arnold, Aaron (Tasha) Slaughter, Erik (Taylor) Slaughter, Hollee, Marissa, Quinn Sheneman, Samantha, Maricio, Jorge and Cruz Slaughter; six great grandchildren; one brother Wayne (Beth) Warsaw and a sister Reva (Willie) McGuire of Terre Haute, IN; numerous nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Ruth A. Slaughter, Ruth passed away on December 27, 2018; eight brothers Richard, Ralph, George, Robert, James, Earl, Floyd and Joe Slaughter; two sisters Mary Tabor and Lois Courtright.

Per Don’s wishes, a cremation will take place, no services are planned.
