Coshocton Farmers Market opening May 1

| April 20, 2021

Spring is here and the opening day of the Coshocton Farmers Market is right around the corner. Opening day for the market is Saturday, May 1 from 8:30 a.m. to noon on the 300 block of Main Street on the court square in downtown Coshocton.

Many vendors are planting their gardens, researching recipes to bake, getting their products ready for sale and are planning to attend the May 1 market. Vendors will have some early produce available for sale such as asparagus, kale, onions, arugula, and radishes. There will also be fresh cut flowers, hanging baskets, bedding plants and lots of perennials for sale. All kinds of baked goods including breads, cookies, brownies, hand pies, apple butter, fudge, maple syrup and local honey will be available. Crafters will be there with deer antler wind chimes and buttons, crocheted doll clothes and angels, body scrubs, soaps, jewelry, purses, handmade bags, homemade candles, photos, paintings, wood burned signs, sun catchers, hair bows and masks.

Vendors currently signed up for opening day on May 1 include: Winding Creek Farm, Lone Wolf Crafts, Simply Kate, FKM Wood Designs, Wix & Match Candles, Spring Valley Farm, Mud Hill Farm, Golden Sky Farm, Mia & Sky Bowtique, Anna Hicks, Carol Koebel, Penny Carroll and Phyllis Debnar. Space is available for more vendors. Contact Becky Bowden, market manager, at 740-327-2235 or e-mail wndngcrkfrm@gmail.com for more information.

Many vendors who sell produce and honey will be able to accept the Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program coupons for payment this year. This program has been funded at least in part with federal funds from the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the support of the Ohio Department of Aging and the Coshocton Senior Center. The market cannot yet accept WIC or SNAP but is in the application process.
