When thinking of a campground store you might think of a little store that sells firewood, ice, and perhaps some snack items.  Coshocton KOA has re-imagined what is possible and has done a complete makeover to its camp store adding a dimension to the KOA experience. More than just for campers, Camille McPeek imagined a boutique for the Coshocton community offering unique gifts, nature-centric toys, apparel, and of course camping essentials.

As a guest enters the camp store natural light flows into the room filled with unique items to spark interest and curiosity in all ages. Expansive windows across the store offer views of the relaxation and fun they are about to experience at the pool and campground. Browsing the store, guests might stumble across the perfect gift for a hard to shop for relative. Jewelry, apparel, and home décor are a few of the specialty items that may be found. The far end of the store showcases refreshments, ice cream, camping supplies, wine, and beer.

“We imagined a store in which people would enjoy spending time and finding inspiration” said Camille McPeek, co-owner of the KOA and designer of the store. “We want the space to be open for community members to enjoy, either just stopping in to shop, or while swimming at the pool in the summer.”

The KOA is hosting a ribbon cutting by the Coshocton Chamber of Commerce on Friday, May 21 at 11 a.m. The community is welcome to attend and is encouraged to stop in any time in the season.

The camp store is open daily mid April through October, and several extra dates for Christmas shopping.
