Jack Guthrie

Jack Guthrie, 84, of Millersburg, passed away at Genesis Hospital in Zanesville on Wednesday May 19, 2021.

Jack was born in Girard, Ohio on November 15, 1936 to the late Wallace Albert and Lela (Cox) Guthrie.  He graduated from Clark High School in the class of 1954 and served in the U.S. Army as an engineer from 1959-1961 and was called back to active duty during the Berlin Crisis in 1961.

Jack retired from Preston Trucking company where he was a member of the Teamsters Union.  He was also a member of the American Legion, Moose Lodge #935, Teamsters Retirement Club and was a faithful member of the Shepler Church.

On May 28, 1977 he married Carol (Brillhart) Guthrie who survives; also surviving are his children Cindy (Ed) French of Quinlan, TX, Roger (Kris) Boatman of Coshocton, Debra (Terry) Bevins of West Lafayette and Sheila (Roy) Krasky of Coshocton; grandchildren Jennifer (Barron) Carpenter, Tina Westmoreland, Mandy (Jason) Todd, Gary French, Adam French, Daniel French, Jamie (Tony) Darr, Missy (Tim) Mossman, Ryan (Nena) Boatman, Matthew (Meghan) Kraksy, Brian (Stephanie) Krasky and Angela Wright; 18 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his granddaughter Nikkalee Boatman; three brothers Kenneth, Paul, and Roger Guthrie; one sister Nancy Guthrie.

Friends may call at The Miller Funeral Home, 639 Main St., Coshocton on Wednesday May 26, 2021 from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM and one hour prior to the service on Thursday.  Funeral services for Jack will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 11:00 AM with Pastor Mike Lorretta officiating.  Interment will follow in Shepler Church Cemetery with Coshocton County Veterans Honor Guard performing military honors.

Memorial contributions may be directed to Shepler Church; envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
