Coshocton County Chamber of Commerce executive director Amy Crown hosted a ribbon cutting for another new business. This time she and other community officials helped welcome Halo Sky Boutique.
The new boutique is located at 22591 state Route 83 N. in Coshocton and features many different items for children, women and men.
“New businesses bring lots of excitement,” Mayor Mark Mills said during the ribbon cutting on May 13. “We really want to support local and appreciate you doing this.”
Melinda Courtright, store owner, said she and her husband planned to open the business after they were both laid off due to COVID. Unfortunately, he passed away and was not able to see their idea come to life, but his memory lives on in the name of the business.
“He loved astronomy, and when I was trying to think of a name, I saw a star with a halo,” Courtright said. “I started with Facebook Live shows, and it just kind of snowballed from there. It’s been a blessing, and the community has been so good to us.”
Courtright is excited to share her merchandise with the community. “We are going to change it up and have different stuff all the time,” she said.
Brittany and Nathan Hayes, Rachel Simpson, and Lexi Griffith are assisting Courtright with the business.
“This is a store for everybody,” Courtright said. “We are here to help the community. Our prices are pretty reasonable. We want everyone happy and to be able to give them good-quality products.”
The boutique is open Thursdays and Fridays from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Sundays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and Mondays from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The boutique will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday.
