Ralph Waldo McMillen
Ralph Waldo McMillen, 80, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, on Saturday, Aug. 7, 2021. Ralph was born in Martins Ferry, Ohio on March 10, 1941 to the late Waldo B. and Hulda E. (Francis) McMillen.
He enjoyed a full life and had a long, varied work history ranging from a government security clearance to work on missiles in the 60s, to factory management, to owning his own businesses. He loved music and dedicated years to a singing ministry, both solo and with the Gospel H.I.M.S. He enjoyed traveling and spending time roaming his own forested acres, home renovation, and spending time with family and friends. He had a special fondness for chocolate and coffee which he passed to his children.
He is survived by his first wife, Kathy Tice and their three children, Cindy (Chet) Lillibridge, Ralph B. (Jill) McMillen, and Kurt McMillen; and his second wife, Virginia McMillen and their two daughters, Kristy (David) Norman, and Misty McMillen; three grandchildren, Kara (Adam) McCarley, Parker and Tanner Norman; his sisters, Eldora Davey and Esther (Ed) Heaton; and brother, Paul (Betty) McMillen; a nephew and numerous nieces and cousins.
Calling hours will be held at Addy Funeral Home in Newcomerstown on Wednesday, Aug. 11 from 6-8 p.m. and Thursday, Aug. 12 from noon to 1 p.m., followed by a funeral service and graveside prayer at West Lawn Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made in Ralph’s name to the National Park Foundation or to the Truman House in New Philadelphia, whose staff made his final days peaceful ones.
