Community Hospice hosting conversation about death, dying

| August 10, 2021

Community Hospice will host a virtual Death Café on Thursday, Aug. 19 at 7 p.m. on Microsoft Teams. A Death Café is a casual gathering for adults 18 and older, focused around discussion about death and dying. Grab a cup of tea or coffee and join. Participants will be encouraged to listen or share as they feel comfortable.

“Many people initially think an event like this sounds weird or morbid, but it is just the opposite,” said Julie Yoder, bereavement support staff with Community Hospice. “Our hope in hosting this Death Café is a chance to openly talk about our mortality — about our thoughts and feelings, fears and wonderings. And maybe by doing that, we can be set free to live our best lives.”
Nothing will be recorded, and confidentiality is a must. Space is limited. To RSVP, email the bereavement care team at Community Hospice at bereavement@myhospice.org or call 1-800-947-7284.
