Max Leon McKee

Max Leon McKee, 91, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 28, 2021, at his home. He was born on Oct. 20, 1929, to the late William and Gertrude (Shaw) McKee.

He was a 1948 graduate of Keene High School. On Feb. 3, 1973, he married Ellen (Mellott) McKee. He retired from Edmont as a supervisor Max was an animal lover and was passionate about horses. He was a well-known horse trainer, helping many people in the surrounding area. He was a member of the National Barrel Horse Association for several years and the Mounted Deputies in Coshocton County.

Along with his wife, he is survived by his children, Troy McKee of Coshocton, Angie (Jody) Bolden of Coshocton, Bill (Wendy) Hutchinson of Wooster, and Greg Hutchinson of Fresno; siblings, Reva Olinger and Carol McKee; 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren as well as many family friends, Rick, Cindy and Wes Wallace, Joe, Stephanie and Peyton Shears, Darell, Sally and Rachel Duncan, Beth Schott and Ted and Tina Craft and finally his devoted companion, Dally, who was always by his side.

Preceding Max in death are his son, Robin McKee and siblings, William, Eddie, Jean and Wayne McKee.

Calling hours will be at the Miller Funeral Home on Thursday, Sept. 2, 2021, from 4-7 p.m. The funeral Service will be at the funeral home on Friday, Sept. 3, 2021, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Bob Fair officiating. A cremation will follow the services.
