Coshocton

 CHS volleyball team dispatches Indian Valley

The Coshocton Redskins Volleyball team fell to league power Meadowbrook by the scores of: 18-25, 25-22, 18-25, and 29-31.

Leaders for Coshocton were: Lindsay Bryant with 13 kills and six digs; Hailey Helter with 12 kills; Ella Bible with 10 kills; and Jalynn West set up the ‘Skins offense with 31 assists.

In a non-league contest, the Coshocton Redskins Volleyball team dispatched Indian Valley in four sets, by the scores of: 25-16, 19-25, 25-18, 25-21

Leaders for Coshocton: Lindsay Bryant with 13 kills, 10 digs, and two service aces; Miyah Davis led the defense with 20 digs; Jalynn West set up the offense with 37 assists; Hailey Helter had 12 kills and eight digs; Ella Bible had 10 kills and 11 digs; and Addy Gordon added 17 digs and two blocks.

In the JV match, the ‘Skins fell to Indian Valley by the scores of 12-25 and 21-25.

Jillian Given had 10 assists while Saige Abbott pounded six kills. Jaeli Tiedt added seven digs.

In the other sub-varsity match, Coshocton fell in straight sets by the scores of 10-25 and 12-25.

Saige Abbott collected five digs for the Redskins.

On Sept. 7 in the Wigwam, the Coshocton Redskins Volleyball team picked up a straight-sets victory over the visiting Tornadoes from West Muskingum by the scores of: 25-21, 25-16, and 25-20.

Offensive leaders for the ‘Skins were Lindsay Bryant with 11 kills, Hailey Helter with nine and Ella Bible with four.

Jalynn West set up the offense with 27 assists.

At the service line, Addy Gordon served up four aces, while West, Bryant and Bible each chipped in two.

Miyah Davis anchored the defense with 15 digs.

The JV Redskins also emerged victorious on the night, securing a three-set victory by the scores of: 25-18, 21-25, and 25-14.

Jillian Given had 13 assists and four kills. Saige Abbott pounded five kills and eight digs, while Maggie Laaper had five kills and five digs.

In the other sub-varsity match, Coshocton defeated Maysville by the scores of 25-9 and 25-13.

Jillian Urban dished out 10 assists while Sophia McFadden had five kills and four service aces.

Ridgewood

Ridgewood volleyball falls to Hiland

Ridgewood’s varsity volleyball team lost to Hiland by scores of 16-25, 25-23, 22-25, and 16-25. Ridgewood JV won in two sets.

The Generals were led by Karissa Gress – 18 kills, three blocks, six digs, four points, and one ace; Ella Matusik – 38 assists, eight digs, seven points and one ace; Hannah Maust – eight kills, 13 digs, three blocks, and seven points; Kaelynn Robinson – eight kills, 15 digs, one block, 10 points, and one ace; Kerstin Webster – five kills, one block, and seven digs; Kaiedence Smith – eight points and three aces; and Kadin Belt – seven digs

Ridgewood lost to River View by scores of 25-21, 16-25, 25-19, 14-25, and 11-15.

JV reserves won in two sets.

Leading the way for Ridgewood was: Hannah Maust – 14 kills, eight digs, 14 blocks, and seven points; Ella Matusik – 39 assists, nine blocks, five digs, four points, and one ace; Karissa Gress – 12 kills, eight blocks, three digs, five points, and five aces; Kaiedence Smith – five digs, five points, and three aces; Kadin Belt – 13 digs, 11 points, and six aces; Kaelynn Robinson – nine kills, 18 digs, and two points; Kya Masloski – four kills, six blocks, and three digs; Kerstin Webster – two kills; and Graci Armstrong – six digs.

Ridgewood lost at Tusky Valley by scores of 25-15, 18-25, 25-19, 20-25, and 13-15.

Stats for the Lady Generals were: Ella Matusik – 44 assists, eight digs, one block, 13 points, and two aces; Hannah Maust – 14 kills, 12 digs, three blocks, and four points; Kaelynn Robinson – nine kills, nine digs, three points, and six aces; Karissa Gress – five kills, seven blocks, two points, and two aces; Kaiedence Smith – four digs, nine points, and four aces; Kadin Belt – 13 digs, six points, and one ace; Kerstin Webster – four kills, five blocks, and three digs; Graci Armstrong – 16 digs; and Kya Masloski – three kills, one block, and two digs.

River View

Lady Bear golfers report scores

RVHS girls golf team played at Hickory Flats against John Glenn. Team scores were: River View – 204 and John Glenn 170.

Individual scores were: Paige Nicely, 47; Chloey Geog, 48; Caily Shriver, 53; Kiera McPeck, 56 (personal record); and Hollee Sheneman, 63.

Cox records a 48 for Black Bears

River View’s varsity boys golf team played the front nine at Hickory Flats on Sept. 7 against Tri-Valley and Philo.

Thad Cox recorded a 48 for the Black Bears and Josh Woolard had a 60.

Junior high golfers pick up away win

The River View Junior High golf team picked up a win against Hiland and Claymont on Sept. 1 at Fire Ridge Golf Course.

River View’s team score was 175. They were led by: Gavin Gress, 35 (medalist); Colton Gress, 39; Caleb Kline, 49; Taylor Harstine, 52; Brynn Harstine, 53; and Clark Frischen, 56.

On Sept. 2 River View and Ridgewood faced off at Hickory Flats. River View won, 165 to 239.

Individual scores for River View were: Gavin Gress, 33; Colton Gress, 38; Caleb Kline, 45; Clark Frischen, 49; Makayla Gress, 58; and Kortnee Mickle, 61. Ridgewood was led by: Jacey Hess, 54; Josie Stanton, 59; Vince Menapace, 63; Wade Thompson, 63; and Conrad Robinson, 69.

John Glenn visited River View’s home course on Sept. 3 and was defeated 166 to 193. The Black Bear’s scores were: Colton Gress, 33; Gavin Gress, 39; Caleb Kline, 46; Brynn Harstine, 48; Taylor Harstine, 50; and Clark Frischen, 58.

On Sept. 6 they played against Tri-Valley and won with a team score of 319. Leaders were: Gavin Gress, 65 (medalist); Colton Gress, 68; Taylor Harstine, 90; Caleb Kline, 96; Brynn Harstine, 98; and Clark Frischen, 99.

The Sept. 7 match was against Mount Vernon at home. River View again won 159 to 221.

The young Black Bears’ scores were: Gavin Gress, 34; Colton Gress, 36; Clark Frischen, 43; Caleb Kline, 46; Taylor Harstine, 50; and Brynn Harstine, 51.
