Learn about COTC’s digital media design program

| September 16, 2021

Design your future in Central Ohio Technical College’s (COTC) digital media design (DMD) technology program. Learn more about degree and certificate options in DMD at an upcoming virtual visit on Tuesday, Nov. 2, from 6 – 7 p.m. that will feature a faculty meet and greet, showcase student work and allow future students to ask questions.

The Associate of Applied Science in Digital Media Design Technology curriculum at COTC is a broad and intensive exploration of the process and the business of digital design. Students can expect to study the principles of design, color theory, social media and typography. Students will also take courses in specific digital software tools. Skills taught include critical thinking, design approaches, the underlying theories of digital media and a variety of digital media production techniques.

Students in the DMD program have two majors they can choose from: graphic design and web design. Students can choose to pursue one major, or they can choose to pursue both majors by taking just a few additional classes.

Additionally, some students may opt to pursue a one-year certificate in digital media technology. This certificate is designed to create a foundation for students wishing to pursue a career in DMD. It is also valuable for individuals in careers such as business, marketing, finance, real estate and many others to gain essential skills in digital media technology. Many courses in the certificate can be completed online, and students can earn the credential in just two semesters.

Registration must be sent by Monday, Nov. 1. Contact Connie Zang at zang.3@osu.edu.
