2 in custody after pursuit

On Sept. 20, at 5:16 p.m. deputies attempted to make a traffic stop on a GMC Jimmy for a traffic violation at South Lawn and Alder Street.

The vehicle fled from deputies traveling northbound through town and went out to US 36 from CR 1A. The vehicle turned right onto US 36 heading eastbound. The pursuit continued 23 miles on US 36 into Tuscarawas County just outside of Port Washington.

One adult male and one adult female were taken into custody and are currently in the Coshocton County Justice Center awaiting formal charges.

Assisting at the scene were Tuscarawas County Sheriff’s Office, Ohio State Highway Patrol and Princes Wrecker Service.
