Holiday gift cards available for veterans and surviving spouses
Gift cards for a turkey or a ham may be issued to a veteran or a widow of a veteran who show proof of being a county resident and have an honorable discharge on record with Coshocton County. Gift cards will be handed out at the Coshocton County Veterans Service Office starting Monday, Nov 8, and ending on Friday, Dec 10, or before if all 250 vouchers are handed out.
Gift cards will be issued to the veteran or widow only. A staff member of the veterans service office and/or a veterans service commission member will review each application.
All veterans receiving a gift card must be a confirmed resident of Coshocton County for no less than three months as outlined in the financial assistance guidelines. A drivers’ license or photo ID is required. No more than one gift card will be issued per household.
Veterans/widows must provide the veteran’s DD-214, NG-22 or reserve discharge orders proving honorable discharge.
These gift cards are for use only at Buehler’s Fresh Foods, 830 South Second St. in Coshocton. This card is only good for a turkey or a ham and must be used by Dec. 31, or it becomes void.
The making of false or misleading statements and/or misuse of voucher may permanently disqualify the veteran from receiving future assistance and may be subject to prosecution.
All statements and claims made by the applicant will be investigated.
