Hazel Fern Crowthers

Hazel Fern Crowthers, 93, of Coshocton passed away Oct. 12, 2021, at Widsorwood Place after a short stay.

Hazel was born and raised in Coshocton, Ohio on July 24, 1928 to Claudy and Marie (Laflin) Crowthers. She was a member of the Roscoe United Methodist Church and their Women’s Group. Hazel worked for 20 years at Kresgee’s in Coshocton then went on to be a Manager at K-Mart in Vernon, Connecticut where she retired in 1993 after 18 ½ years.

Hazel is survived by her adopted daughter Karen (Royce) Emerson, granddaughters Raylene (Timothy) Gerber, Reagina (Mitch)Shepherd, Rhonda (Chuck)Emerson, sister-in-law Ellen Crowthers, dog Peanut, a sister Alice Ross, lifelong friend Rosalee Link, and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her siblings Bert, Francis, Richard Crowthers and Mabel Fogelsong. Along with her siblings she is preceded by 2 husbands LeRoy Hinds and Robert LaChappelle.

The funeral is set for Saturday, October 16, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Free Funeral Home. Calling hours will be prior from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow the funeral at Roscoe Cemetery, Coshocton, Ohio.
