CHS volleyball tourney run stopped by Fort Frye

| October 28, 2021

On Wednesday night, Oct. 27, in Byesville, the Coshocton Redskins volleyball team had its tourney run stopped by the Lady Cadets of Fort Frye High School, by the scores of: 15-25, 14-25, and 11-25.

The aggressive serving Cadets kept Coshocton out of their offensive system for much of the evening and the ‘Skins could never mount any type of sustained rally against their opponent. Coshocton fought hard, but in the end, Fort Frye proved too much.
The Redskin’s offense was led by Ella Bible and Hailey Helter who each collected six kills, while Lindsey Bryant tallied four. Jalynn West had 18 assists and two ace serves. Miyah Davis had 11 digs.
With the loss the Redskin’s season comes to an end with a record of 17-8, a second place finish in the MVL small-school division, the most wins in program history since 2007 and the first district berth since 2008.
“As most season-ending losses are, it was a bitter pill to swallow, but in retrospect it was a very special season for a very special group of young ladies,” said CHS Head Coach Cari Bahmer.
