Two collide in US 36 accident

On Nov. 16, 2021, at approximately 1:47 p.m. the sheriff’s office received a 911 call in reference to a possible accident with injuries in the area of the 43000 block of US 36 Bethlehem TWP.

Upon arrival of the deputies, it was determined that a Darrelle E. Williams (54) of Coshocton was driving his 2005 Chrysler Town and Country, when he was pulling out of his driveway on US 36 in an eastbound direction. Cheryl E. Rice (70) of Coshocton was driving her 2013 Chevy Silverado in a westbound direction. Williams did not see the Rice vehicle and struck it. Rice tried to avoid the collision and swerved to the left and then back to the right. After the two vehicles collided and separated. The Rice vehicle then went off the right side of the roadway and struck a telephone pole. Rice was transported from the scene by the Coshocton County EMS to the Coshocton Regional Medical Center. Two passengers in the Williams vehicle a Charles Woody Sr. (39) of Coshocton and a Gina Jago (38) of Coshocton were not injured along with Williams. Williams will be cited for failure to yield for the accident.

Assisting at the scene was Coshocton County EMS, Walhonding Valley Fire Department and Princes Wrecker Service.
