Coshocton County COVID-19 test kit distribution announced

The Coshocton County EMS will be helping to distribute COVID-19 home test kits from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily  at both of these stations: Warsaw, 329 Main St. (use the entrance door on the west (parking lot) side of the building) and West Lafayette, 405 Main St.

Steve Lonsinger, health commissioner for Coshocton County Health Department, reports this holiday season, COVID-19 still poses risks. Community transmission rates remain high in many areas, and the highly contagious Delta variant is still spreading.

The Ohio Department of Health’s Holiday Guide advises people to, “Get tested before attending any gathering if you have symptoms of COVID-19 or have a close contact with someone who has COVID-19.  Consider getting tested if there is any chance you may have been exposed to someone who has COVID-19, even if you are asymptomatic.

The Ohio Department of Health has the following advice for having safer celebrations:

  • Choose to get vaccinated – the best way to protect yourself and your loved ones
  • When indoors, ensure proper ventilation.
  • Space your dining areas.
  • Maintain safe distancing.
  • Consider wearing masks indoors.
  • Stay home and do not host a gathering if you have any signs or symptoms of COVID-19.
  • Get tested before attending any gathering if you have symptoms or have a close contact with someone who has COVID-19
  • Make sure everyone washes their hands frequently and uses hand sanitizer.
  • Regularly disinfect high touch surfaces.
