William ‘Bill’ Allen Shaw
William “Bill” Allen Shaw, 88, of Coshocton, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 21, 2021. He was born in Newcomerstown, Ohio on July 8, 1933 to the late John and Elizebeth (Widder) Shaw.
William served in the United States Navy for four years before transferring to the United States Air Force where he served 16 more years as a precision measurement specialist. He was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church and a member of the Coshocton County Sportsman Club. He was an avid Buckeye fan and was extremely proud of his military service. His family describes him as being very friendly and having never met a stranger.
William is survived by his children, William Kevin Shaw of California, John Tino Shaw (Teena) of Coshocton, Gia Ross (Charles) of Adams Mills, Shawn M Shaw (Sheri) of Coshocton, and Sondra Renee Cristea (Tony) of Missouri. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren; Scott Shaw (Ashley), Michael Shaw (Brooke), Cole Shaw, Justin Cristea, Sean Cristea, Brianna Campbell (Mitchell), Victoria Shaw, Kenzie Shaw, Beau Richesson (Danielle), Corey Richesson (Anisha), and Seth Richesson. William is also survived by many great-grandchildren and his siblings Richard “Dick” Shaw (Carol) of Coshocton, Greg Shaw of Coshocton, Mary C. Grace of Coshocton, and Cynthia “Cindy” Sikora of Coshocton.
William was preceded in death by his parents and loving wife of 47 years, Jeanne (Burris) Shaw, who passed away in May of 2005. He is also preceded in death by his son, Micah, and his brothers, Gene Shaw, James Shaw, John Shaw, and David Shaw and his granddaughter, Aften Staser.
A graveside service will be held Friday, Jan. 7, 2022 at 10 a.m. at Coshocton County Memory Gardens. Given-Dawson-Paisley Funeral Home is serving the family.
