State Representative Kevin Miller (R-Newark) highlights MARCS (Multi-Agency Radio Communication System) funding coming to four fire departments in the 72nd district. This funding was made available by the state budget, which was supported by Representative Miller.

MARCS is the radio system that allows for our first responders to communicate with one another when responding to an incident. This funding will help to ensure that the communication system is updated and functioning at its best.

“It is imperative that we continue to provide necessary technology for our fire departments and I was pleased to have supported this funding as a part of the State Operating Budget,” said Miller.

Departments receiving funding in District 72 are:

  • Jackson Township Fire Department – $2,168.87
  • Three Rivers Fire District – $2,011.25
  • Monday Creek Township Fire Department – $240
  • Refugee-Canyon Joint Fire District – $4,800.00

In total 212 fire departments across 67 counties received grant funding. The entire list is available on the State Fire Marshal website.
