RV boys claim MVL swim title

The River View boys’ swim team claimed its second straight Muskingum Valley League title, and the girls placed third at the championship meet held at the Janet Jones Mulligan Natatorium on Jan. 26. The other league schools represented were Coshocton, Tri Valley, West Muskingum, John Glen, Maysville, and Crooksville.

Medalists on the boys’ team in relay events were the first place Medley Relay of Zachariah Phillips, Colin Addy, Cole Tatro, and Jamal Watts (2:01.87), the first place 200 Free relay of Phillips, Tatro, Watts, and Coen Bible, eclipsing their own school record (1:43.31), the first place 400 Free relay of Watts, Addy, Jonathon Vu, and Bible (4:13.25), and the third place 200 Free group of Jesse Shoemaker, Marcos Barbe, Jamison Adams, and Vu (1:56.56).

Individual medals went to Coen Bible, first in the 100 Free (59.11), and second in the 200 Free (2:15.43), Zachariah Phillips, first in the 50 Free (25.76), and second in the 100 Back (1:11.65), Cole Tatro, first in the 100 Breast (1:16.60), Jonathon Vu, second in the 100 Fly (1:13.97), and third in the 400 Free (5:24.66), Colin Addy, second in the 200 Individual Medley (2:49.75), Jamal Watts, second in the 50 Free (26.03), and Jamison Adams, third in the 100 Back (1:20.58).

The girls medaled in two relay events. The group of Emily Williams, Britton McCoy, Michaela White, and Ally Fischer were third in both the 200 Free (2:14.95), and the 400 Free (5:11.15), and in individual events, Ally Fischer placed third in the 100 Fly (1:25.31).
