Shutt selected to fill school board vacancy

At a special meeting on Feb. 10, the Coshocton City Schools Board of Education unanimously voted to appoint Dave Shutt to the unexpired board position left vacant after the resignation of Steve Clark.

The term will run through 2023. According to Board President Phil Hunt, “Eleven candidates submitted applications and seven applicants were interviewed for the vacancy. We were impressed with their professionalism and enthusiasm, and we appreciate the commitment to our school district that each applicant displayed. We are pleased that Mr. Shutt has agreed to fill this vacancy and we feel he will be an asset to the board.”

Shutt stated that he, “looks forward to working in collaboration with the board of education and the district leadership team, in order to make a difference in every child’s education.” He supports the mission of the school district and emphasizes he is here to help and serve the school district and community. He will be sworn in at the next regular board meeting.

Shutt is currently the National Sales Manager for Wonder Grip USA, and he serves on the board of trustees for the Montgomery Foundation. He is a proud graduate of Coshocton High School, along with his wife, Amy, and his two sons, Kyle and Ryan. He holds a BA in Business Administration and Marketing from Malone University. He and his wife, Amy, reside in the City of Coshocton.
