Central Christian Church has a new minister, Rev. Stew Royce. He moved here from Cedar Rapids, Iowa in early February with his wife Jill.

Stew was born in Toronto, Ontario, and his family has a long history with the Disciples of Christ in Canada. He worked in the newspaper business before entering the University of Western Ontario, graduating with a B.A. in 2000. Stew then moved to Kentucky and attended Lexington Theological Seminary, completing his Master of Divinity degree in December 2003. During his final year, he met Jill, who worked as a hospice nurse in Lexington.

Upon graduating from seminary, Stew served as Associate Minister in Hermiston, Oregon, and then minister to Boones Mill Christian Church in Virginia. Stew and Jill were married at Boones Mill Church in 2008. More recently, Stew served a congregation in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
