John E. Kimberley
John E. Kimberley, 77, of Coshocton passed away on Saturday, March 5, 2022, at his home surrounded by his family, after a long battle of cancer.
John was born in Coshocton on July 4, 1944, to the late John E. and Mary (Johnson) Kimberley. He graduated from Coshocton High School in the class of 1962 and attended Salem School of Technology. He served in the United States Navy from 1963 to 1967. In his earlier years, he was a police officer for the Coshocton City Police and the Coshocton Sheriff’s Department before moving to Alliance. There, he worked for Clem Lumber and Distributing Co. until he retired in 2014.
He was a member of the Coshocton Elk’s, Moose, Eagles, V.F.W., American Legion and AMVETS. As well as the Shepherd Christian Assembly Church. John enjoyed spending time with his wife, family and friends. He played golf and enjoyed fishing with his grandson, Bubba.
John is survived by his devoted wife, Rita (Stoneburner) Kimberley, whom he married on May 11, 1991; children, Barbara Moody of Zanesville, Karen Kimberley of KY and Joanna (Bryan) Reeb of Columbus; stepchildren, Shawn Blaho of West Lafayette and Jennifer Carter of Bladensburg; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Mary Ann (Richard) Nelson of Lewisville; one brother, Richard (Joanna) Kimberley of Coshocton and numerous nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his two grandsons and sister, Lila Mathews.
Friends may call at the Miller Funeral Home on Friday, March 11, 2022, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. where funeral services will begin at 1 p.m. with Pastor Starkey Lawrence officiating. Coshocton County Veterans Honor Guard will be performing military honors.
