Several drug busts occurred on March 7
The Coshocton County Sheriff’s Office was very busy on March 7 with several drug busts.
At approximately 12:05 p.m. the Coshocton County Sheriff’s Office Detective Division and K-9 Division were working a narcotic interdiction and had initiated a traffic stop in the alleyway near O’Reilly Auto Parts. The identified male driver had a suspended driver’s license. K-9 Charli conducted a narcotics sweep of the vehicle and confirmed that the vehicle had narcotics in it. The vehicle was searched and drugs, drug related items and a firearm were taken from the vehicle. The adult male was taken into custody. The name of the adult male will be withheld until formal charges and after the review from the Coshocton County Prosecutors Office. On March 8, 41-year-old David E. Smith of Coshocton was formally charged with aggravated trafficking in drugs, a first degree felony. More charges are anticipated after the review from the Coshocton County Prosecutors Office.
At approximately 8:47 p.m. on March 7, the sheriff’s office detective division executed a search warrant on the 1100 block of East Main Street. As a result of the search warrant, drugs and drug related items were taken from the scene. This is an ongoing investigation and will be reviewed by the Coshocton County Prosecutors Office.
The sheriff’s office detective division executed another search warrant at 11:20 p.m. on March 7 on the 400 block of South Third Street. As a result of the search warrant, one adult male and one adult female was taken into custody. Drugs and drug related items were taken from the scene. The name of the adult male and adult female will be withheld until formal charges and after the review from the Coshocton County Prosecutors Office.
