2-vehicle accident reported on SR 83

On March 12, 2022 at approximately 2:48 p.m. the sheriff’s office received a 911 call advising of a two-vehicle accident with possible injuries in the 28000 block of SR 83 north in Keene Township.
Upon arrival of deputies it was determined that Randall S. Shepherd Jr (20) of Coshocton was traveling southbound on SR 83 in a 2000 Toyota. Wayne H Schlabach (40) of New Philadelphia was driving his 2011 Chevrolet and was traveling northbound on SR 83. The Shepherd vehicle had lost control and went left of center striking the Schlabach vehicle head on.
Shepherd was transported by Coshocton County EMS to the Coshocton Regional Medical Center with visible injuries. Schlabach was transported by the Coshocton County EMS to Pomerene Hospital with visible injuries. Shepherd was cited for failure to control and left of center.
Assisting the sheriff’s office at the scene was Coshocton County EMS, Three Rivers Fire District, REACT and Prince’s Wrecker Service.
