CRMC receives Healthgrades Patient Safety Excellence Award

| March 15, 2022

Coshocton Regional Medical Center, a member of Prime Healthcare, has received the Healthgrades Patient Safety Excellence Award for the third year in a row (2020-2022). This distinction places Coshocton Regional Medical Center among the top 10% of all short-term acute care hospitals as evaluated by Healthgrades. Prime Healthcare has more patient safety excellence awards for seven years in a row than any other health system (2016-2022), according to Healthgrades.

Every year, Healthgrades evaluates hospital performance at nearly 4,500 hospitals nationwide for 31 of the most common inpatient procedures and conditions.

“Earning the Healthgrades Patient Safety Excellence Award three years in a row shows our commitment of quality care to this community,” said Lisa Jackson, chief nursing officer at Coshocton Regional Medical Center. “Our caregivers set us apart and make every patient experience a priority.”

Healthgrades’ analysis shows that patients treated at hospitals receiving a five-star rating have a lower risk of mortality and a lower risk of experiencing one or more complications during a hospital stay than if they were treated at hospitals receiving a one-star rating in that procedure or condition. From 2018 through 2020, if all hospitals as a group performed similarly to hospitals receiving five-stars as a group, on average, 218,141 lives could potentially have been saved, and complications in 156,050 patients could potentially have been avoided.

In addition, Coshocton Regional Medical Center was also recognized for the following clinical achievements:

– Five-Star Recipient for Treatment of Sepsis for four years in a row (2019 2022)

– Five-Star Recipient for Treatment of Pneumonia for three years in a row (2020 2022)

– Five-Star Recipient for Gallbladder Removal surgery in 2022
