The official ribbon cutting for CES Credit Union was held April 7 with CEO Sandy Coffing, Coshocton Chamber of Commerce, Port Authority, Credit Union members and employees and other city officials attending.
Chamber Executive Director Amy Crown welcomed everyone to the ceremony saying, “We are so excited to have this new business in Coshocton. The resources that you bring and the different services that you bring, we can’t wait to promote.”
Manager Karen Wright has been a lender in Coshocton with more than 25 years of banking experience along with a staff of three employees. Wright had put together a special ribbon for the ceremony she made from 10-dollar bills totaling $250 which was donated to Fill the Backpack Coshocton sponsored by Coshocton Regional Medical Center.
CES Credit Union has been serving individuals since 1952 in Knox County beginning with savings accounts and small loans for individuals that needed some help. The business has grown substantially through the years and now serves eight counties. Their mission is to give back to the communities they serve by joining the Chamber of Commerce, making donations to different organizations and serving on boards to make a difference.
“We are a full-service institution that includes anything from a savings account to a 30-year mortgage. Anyone who lives, works, attends worship or attends school in any of our eight counties is eligible,” Coffing said.
Wright thanked everyone for coming and supporting this new adventure. “I am so glad to have an amazing team here,” she said. “I can’t tell you how excited I am They live here, they went to school here, they have been in the community, and they are knowledgeable. They have been in the banking business for years, so they bring knowledge into this office every day. With this team, you are going to be able to come into the office, we are going to be able to help you with lots of services from checking accounts to savings accounts, all types of loans including mortgages and we also make that decision in house so we totally look at the person and figure out what their needs are.”
Credit Unions have a cooperative business plan, so profits from operations are returned to the customers (members) in the form of better service and rates.
Wright received a plaque for being a chamber member and a ribbon from Coshocton Regional Medical Center for their donation to Fill the Backpack helping to make sure the kids in Coshocton have all that they need when they go back to school.
Business hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday.
