Cinco de Mayo scavenger hunt planned

| April 25, 2022

Our Town Coshocton would like to announce on behalf of Historic Downtown and Roscoe Village DORA license holders, the 2022 Cinco de Mayo Scavenger Hunt that will take place Thursday, May 5, from 3-9 p.m.

This joint downtown and Roscoe Village event will take participants across the bridge to at least a dozen establishments, armed with a map and clue sheet. CCCTA will be providing a free shuttle during the event; an essential part of the 2022 Pub Crawl that saw over 1,000 revelers with 203 individuals utilizing the free shuttle service.

In addition to the scavenger hunt, participating establishments in the DORA will be having a variety of specials to celebrate Cinco De Mayo. Upon completing the scavenger hunt, participants will drop off their completed forms at the Coshocton Village Inn and Suites; whose bar will also be open that day. Here, individuals will be invited to draw special limited coupons from the participating establishments (such as half price appetizers, half price drinks, etc. while supplies last) One lucky completed form will be drawn for a cash grand prize the day after the event (amount to be determined).

An event page will be added to the Our Town Coshocton website (www.ourtowncoshocton.org), which will include the most up to date information on participants, specials, and ultimately the scavenger hunt map to be released the morning of the event. This event is free of charge, and copies of the map will be available at establishments during the day for those who do not bring their own copy.

Downtown and Roscoe Village DORA establishments participating in the event are: Army Navy, Cheers, Coshocton Village Inn and Suites, Huck’s Tavern, Main Street Station, Moose Lodge, Pods & Goggles, Pub 229, Sorrell’s On The Square, Thompson Ninety-Nine, Tlaquepaque, and The Warehouse Restaurant.

DORA license holders not listed and who would like to participate are encouraged to contact the Our Town office at otc.execdirector@gmail.com or 740-610-8445. Specific inquiries may be referred to Gary Sorrell at EAT@sorrellsonthesquare.com.

“Our Town Coshocton strongly encourages retailers to extend hours on this day and for all special events utilizing the DORA. We will work with shops on both sides of the bridge to get out the message of any retail specials occurring alongside this event. With the enormous turnout from St. Patrick’s Day, there is a clear opportunity for businesses in the Downtown/Roscoe corridor to extend hours and benefit from the large boost in foot traffic. We are thrilled that DORA license holders are taking full advantage of this new tool and look forward to another fantastic event. It’s a win for our establishments, the retail stores, and ultimately residents and visitors alike,” said Lanny Spaulding, OTC.
