| April 25, 2022

Surrounded by his family, David Ray Roenbaugh, also affectionately known as “BeBe and Davey Rumble” went to his eternal home on Thursday, April 21, 2022.

Dave was born in Coshocton to the late Earl and Rachel (Roof) Roenbaugh on July 26, 1950. From the time he was young, his charismatic personality brought smiles to everyone he met. Dave was a 1968 graduate of River View High School. Four years later he graduated magna cum laude from Ohio University, where he double majored in communications and English education. On July 27, 1974 he married the love of his life, Lynn Patterson, who survives. The following year Dave earned his master degree in educational administration from Miami University. During his career, Dave taught English at Eaton, Coshocton, and Meadowbrook high schools. He took great pride in his time as a football coach and yearbook adviser where he found his love of photography. Dave spent the majority of his career teaching communications at Central Ohio Technical College, where he devoted equal time to entertaining and educating. His children grew up hearing from many of his students that Mr. Roenbaugh was their favorite teacher ever.

Dave also served his community as a volunteer EMT with the Keene squad house, a member of the MRDD Board, and President of COTC’s chapter of the American Federation of Teachers. In his retirement, Dave enjoyed taking long rides, spending time with family, attending his grandchildren’s ball games, and cuddling with his dogs Lyla, Chewy and Bonnie. Even when his mobility became limited, he was known for regular phone calls to check in on his kids and friends, always apprising them of changes in gas prices and upcoming weather.

In addition to his wife, Dave is survived by a circle of loving relatives including children, Amanda (Tony) Meiser, Melissa (Dan) Winner, and Mark (Tabitha Gosselin) Roenbaugh; grandchildren, Maddy Meiser, Brendan Shrimplin, Sophie Meiser, Brady Winner, Lucas Meiser, Ashton Winner and Ava Winner; several in-laws, cousins, and longtime friend Sharon Lewis.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 30, 2022 at Keene United Methodist Church, 27100 CR 1 Coshocton, OH 43812, with Rev. Paula Marbury officiating. A private burial will follow at his home. Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. Friday evening at the church, and also prior to service time on Saturday. The Fischer Funeral Home in Warsaw is handling arrangements. www.fischerfuneralhome.com
