Youth chorale presents season finale
The Coshocton Youth Chorale, an ensemble of high school singers from four area schools, will present their spring concert of the season on Friday, May 27, at Roscoe United Methodist Church, 475 High Street in Roscoe Village, Coshocton. The 60-minute program will begin at 7:30 p.m; doors will open at 7 p.m. This will be the first concert for the Youth Chorale since December 2019.
The youth chorale is conducted by Charles R. Snyder and accompanied by Dickie R. Barrick. The chorale is sponsored by the Coshocton Community Choir, a Coshocton County musical tradition that began in 1971. Mark D. Wagner is the musical assistant, and Erin R. Jobes serves as the coordinator for the group. Members of the Youth Chorale come from Coshocton, River View, and Ridgewood schools.
Titled “Sing Together,” the concert will include sacred and contemporary compositions, show tunes, spirituals, folk songs, and American classics. The concert will examine the difference people can make when they work as a team, and the joy of making music together. Graduating seniors will be recognized, and the audience will be invited to greet the young musicians following the concert. Youth chorale alumni will be invited to join the current Chorale in two traditional songs.
The community is invited to share this evening of music. There is no admission charge, but an offering will be received to help support the youth chorale.
