Dale Orin Shaw

Dale Orin Shaw, 95, completed his life on this Earth on Wednesday, June 29, 2022, at Signature Healthcare.

He was born Feb. 23, 1927, in Coshocton to the late Clay and Mary (Corder) Shaw. Dale was a World War II Army Veteran, serving in Italy with the 350th Infantry, Company G, from June 1945 to February 1947. On July 8, 1958, he married Dorothy E. Parks, who passed away on Nov. 30, 2011.

He worked for many years as an auto mechanic at several car dealerships in Coshocton. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed boating. Dale attended the Burt Avenue Wesleyan Church and gave his heart to Jesus on Good Friday in 2015.

Dale is survived by two daughters, Sandra (Jim) Sycks of Coshocton and Jonalee McSwain of Cincinnati; four grandchildren, Lisa (Mark) Clark, Beth (Tony) West, Amy (Brian) Sloan, and Craig (Barb) Miller; three step grandchildren, David Sycks, Debbie (Eric) Mathis, and Dana (Jason) Dobbs; many great-grandchildren; several great-great grandchildren; and his sister, Betty Donley of Coshocton.

Along with his parents and his wife, Dale was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters, Kenneth Shaw, Jake Shaw, Michael Shaw, Annabelle Hall, Carol Tedrick, and Rebekah Williamson; a son-in-law, Ralph McSwain; grandson-in-law, Rich “Richie” Hothem; and great-grandson, David Gonter, Jr.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, July 9 at 11 a.m. at the Valley View Cemetery, Warsaw, with Pastor Rod Uhlig officiating and military rites being performed by the Coshocton County Veterans Council Honor Guard.
