Events planned at River View Community Pool
River View Community Pool has announced some exciting activities they have planned for July. All of the events will take place at the pool.
On Wednesday, July 20th, the pool will hold Quarter Bingo from 6:30 – 9 p.m. Admission to Bingo is free and concessions will be available for purchase. James Rose, pool manager and park board member said, “Quarter Bingo is simply playing Bingo for a quarter per card played. There can also be a few special bingos that will cost $0.50, and the final play will be for $1 per card. The winner of each round gets 50% and then the pool gets the other half.”
Monday, July 25, there will be a duck hunt at the pool. Each duck will cost $5 (or three for $10) and only a limited number of ducks will be available. The duck hunt will begin at 7 p.m. “A duck hunt is just a fun way to do a fundraiser,” Rose said. “People purchase numbered ducks and then the ducks are put in the pool. A few random kids are used to pick out ducks and those ducks get you a prize. The final duck left in the pool wins the grand prize. So, on one hand you want your duck picked, but you’re also hoping he survives as the last one.”
A dive-in movie will be shown on Wednesday, July 27. A family friendly movie event will be from 8 – 11 p.m. The cost is $5 per person, and you will be able to purchase concessions.
Rose said the park wanted to do the activities to have some fun. “We want to do some upkeep and updates to the pool, so my staff and I came up with some fun ways to do what’s needed without taking money out of the general fund. It’s a way to raise support and have fun while doing it.”
The pool is located at 236 Park Dr. in Warsaw.
