Kids treat first responders
Sophia Dillon, Sadie Dreher and Tyler Dreher used their lemonade stand as an act of goodwill.
The kids made regular lemonade, pink lemonade and Kool-Aid. If you bought a drink from their stand for a dollar you also get a free cookie. They started setting up at 9 a.m. July 11 on the corner of 15th and East Main streets and were ready for business about 10 a.m.
“We were busy right away,” Tyler said. “Our Mom and Dad are first responders, so we decided to give free lemonade to all first responders because they help our community.”
“Someone told us to come here and have our stand because this is where the most cars go by,” Sadie said. “We’ve been here since 9 a.m. this morning and we will probably be here until about 6 or 7 p.m. tonight. We just ran out of regular lemonade, but we still have a lot of cookies. We are going to save our money to get more lemonade because we just ran out.”
Sophia said it has been a fun day selling lemonade with them and doing something for first responders. The kids plan to use their profits to buy more supplies and do it again.
