River View no longer able to offer free meals for all

| August 4, 2022

During the last school year, River View children and families benefitted from no-cost school meals for all students, made possible by special permission from the United States Department of Agriculture. Unfortunately, these permissions have expired. River View Schools and the Ohio Department of Education cannot extend the permissions for no-cost meals for all students.

School meals will still be available to all students; however, they will not be free to all students.  Household may apply for free or reduced-price meal benefits by Wednesday, Aug. 24. Applications are available at your students building, open house, admin office and online at https//payschoolscentral.com/ as was done before pandemic.

Eligibility for free and reduced-price lunch is based on federal income guidelines or participation in other programs such as Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program and Ohio Works First. For additional information concerning the National School Lunch Program, see the U.S. Department of Agriculture school lunch questions and answer webpage.

For the 2022-23 school year, the price of reduced and paid lunches will be as follows: Grades K-sixth – breakfast, $1.25 and lunch, $2.40; grades seven – 12 – breakfast, $1.25 and lunch $2.60; reduced price students, all grades – breakfast, no charge and lunch, $0.40.
