Elnora Wells
Our beloved Elnora Katherine Wells, 94, of Warsaw, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, July 28, 2022 at AlterCare of Coshocton, where they lovingly cared for her the last 13 years.
She was born in Letart Falls, Ohio, on Sept. 18, 1927, daughter of the late William Orville and Ruth Beauchamp (Alexander) Barnitz. She spent her childhood growing up in Pomeroy, Ohio with her seven siblings. Elnora met her late husband Robert Wells while studying at The Ohio State University where she graduated in 1949 with a Bachelor Degree. She then married Robert shortly after graduation and they began their life together in Evanston, Illinois, where Robert enrolled in seminary.
They arrived in Coshocton County in June of 1952, where they began their ministry. Elnora taught for 30 years at Union Elementary School until her retirement in 1992. Elnora and Bob would run Wells Greenhouses in Warsaw which allowed them to fulfill their passion for beautifying the community they so loved. Elnora loved to travel and was fortunate to visit many places on various trips with friends and family. Hawaii, Israel, Egypt, Kenya, and Australia being a few of her favorite adventures. She fostered this love of travel and experiencing different cultures in her children and grandchildren, always happy to recount travel stories.
Elnora was a member of the Walhonding Valley Grange, Coshocton County Farm Bureau, Nellie Chapel United Methodist Church and the Warsaw Lions Club. She loved all her Wells Greenhouse friends. The Wells family would especially like to thank Sandy Zimmer for the hundreds of times she visited Elnora at AlterCare.
She is survived by sons, Lynn and Kim Wells; granddaughter, Olivia Wells; grandson, Adam Wells; her former daughter-in-law, Mary Jo Wells; two sisters, Wilma Nelson, Billie Jean Hoelscher; and brother, Robert Barnitz.
