River View hires new school treasurer

The River View Local School District Board of Education hired a new school treasurer. Kara Kimes was hired at their BOE meeting on Aug. 11. She will be transitioning into the role as long time School Treasurer Lee Jane Williamson will be mentoring Kimes Sept. 1, 2022 to Jan. 31, 2023.

Kimes comes to River View Local Schools after spending almost three years at the Auditor of State of Ohio Office in the Central and Southeast Region. She most recently has been a working treasurer at Charter School Specialist in Pickerington, Ohio.

Kimes is a graduate of Muskingum University with a B.A. in Accounting and Business and she has also obtained a Master in Divinity from Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY. Kimes obtained her school treasurer’s license in 2020 from the Ohio Department of Education.

Chuck Rinkes, RV Superintendent said, “We are thrilled to have Kara join our team here at RVLSD. Kara brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the position but also understands there is a lot to learn and is looking forward to mentoring with Lee over the next few months. There have only been three school treasurers in the history of RVLSD. Kara will be the forth. Black Bear Nation is looking forward to working with Kara as the new school treasurer of the RVLSD.”
