A unique event is coming to the Walhonding Valley Historical Society Museum in Warsaw. The Coshocton Canal Quilters will be showcasing up to 50 quilts made by local artists at the museum. The show will give people the chance to not only see beautiful handmade quilts, but also the chance to explore local history through the museum.

“After being closed for two years due to COVID, the museum board decided that we wanted to find ways to encourage the public to come to the museum – our little gem in Warsaw,” said Beth Nelson, museum board member. “Our first endeavor was an old-fashioned lemonade stand on the front porch during the Memorial Day Parade. It was well-received and brought several visitors into the museum.”

“We approached the canal quilters about hosting a show where we could highlight their beautiful creations in the confines of our museum as a way to showcase both,” Nelson said. “They were excited to share the quilts in the Warsaw area.”

The show will be held Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 10-11 and Sept. 17-18 from 1-4 p.m. each day. The show is free to the public, but donations will be accepted. The museum is located at 102 Main St. in Warsaw.
