Sondra Jean (Holmes) Dunfee, 82, passed away Thursday, Sept. 15, 2022 at Genesis Hospital in Zanesville.

She was born March 6, 1940 in Fallsburg to the late Cary Loren and Geneva A. (Dillon) Holmes. She married Robert L. “Tob” Dunfee on June 23, 1963, who preceded her in death on Feb. 26, 2013. She worked at Shriner’s for over 20 years until retiring, only to go on to work at RHDD for several years until retiring for good.

Sondra loved sitting on her front porch, bird watching, and playing Yahtzee even just by herself. She enjoyed going on vacation, especially to the Smoky Mountains. She also loved working on puzzles, cooking, and being surrounded by family. Many times she cooked for them all at family get-togethers, which she always looked forward to attending.

Sondra loved going to church at New Beginnings Ministries. She answered the phone, and was active in their compassion ministry, often preparing meals for her church family.

She is survived by her children, Richard Dilly of Killbuck, Mike (Susan) Dilly of Howard, Tara (Tony) Kaser of Warsaw, Bill (Connie) Dunfee of Frazeysburg, Jim Dunfee of Warsaw, and Jill (Mike) Hammersley of Coshocton; twenty-four grandchildren; fifty-five great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Cynthia Burgess; two brothers, Bob & Rex Holmes; several nieces and nephews; and her canine companion, “Bear”.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by an infant; a son, Terry Seymoure; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Wendy Holmes and Lorene Hahn; and six brothers, Loren Jr., Teddy, Cecil “Tim”, Roy, Ronnie, and Kenneth Holmes.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2022 at New Beginnings Ministries (331 E. Church St. Warsaw, OH 43844), with Pastors Bill & Kyle Dunfee officiating. Burial will follow in Bethel Cemetery outside Warsaw. Visitation is from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the church on Wednesday.
