Lynette Jo Whitis

Lynette Jo Whitis went home to God’s eternal kingdom Wednesday, January 4, 2023 surrounded by her loving family. Lynette was born September 2, 1934 the oldest of three daughters of Roy and Lucille (Jones) Miller.

Lynette graduated from Coshocton High School with the class of 1952. Following graduation, she worked as a secretary at Edmont Manufacturing Company, Coshocton, Ohio. Lynette was a life-long member of Central Christian Church where she served as church secretary for thirty years. She also sang with her church choir and the Coshocton Community Choir.

On August 6, 1957, Lynette married James Allen Whitis who preceded her in death April 22, 1997. She is survived by her children Kathy (Robert) Gwinn and Thomas (Linda) Whitis. Grandchildren are Brian (Tammy) Guinther, Laura (Joe) Holley, Daniel (Lindsey) Gwinn, T.J. Whitis, and Michael Whitis. Great grandchildren are Max and Evan Guinther. Lynette is survived by two sisters, Daneen Miller Zureich and Mickie Copenhaver Galajda and their families. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers-in-law Larry Copenhaver and Norman Zureich.

A celebration of life will be held at Given-Dawson-Paisley Funeral Home on Saturday, January 14, 2023 at 11:00 am with Rev. Stewart Royce and Rev. Philip Hunt officiating. Calling hours will be held one hour prior. Burial will follow the funeral service at South Lawn Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Memorial Fund of Central Christian Church in honor of Lynette Jo Whitis.
