Brian L. Reiss

Brian L. Reiss, age 62, of Coshocton passed away on Thursday, January 5, 2023, at his home with his loving and devoted family by his side. Brian was born on July 6, 1960, to the late Robert A. Reiss and Juanita A. (Ridenbaugh) Reiss, who survives.  He married the love of his life, Amy (McNichols) Reiss, on June 26, 1982.  Brian graduated from River View High School in 1978 and went on to work at AK Steel and later Greer Steel, where he finished out his career as Plant Manager with a team he admired and friendships he valued.

Brian was a dedicated husband, father, and pappy who loved spending time with his family and working on the Reiss cattle farm with his wife and dog Boo. He strived in life to be a positive mentor and to help develop people to reach their full potential. He believed in leaving things better than how he found them and living life with no regrets.

Brian is survived by his wife Amy; daughters Tiffany (Dustin) Gregory, Brianne (Kelsey) Reiss, and Molly (Nathan) Modesitt, all of Coshocton; honorary daughter, Ashley (John) Tritschler of Pittsburgh; beloved grandchildren Dustin, Aria, and Adelaide Gregory, Nora West, Holden Reiss, and Theo Modesitt; mother Juanita Reiss of Coshocton; sisters, Terri (Jim) Harris and Robin (Jim) Glasure and sister-in-law, Laura (Gregory) Reiss.

He is preceded in death by his father Robert A. Reiss; brother, Gregory A. Reiss and father-in-law, Thomas J. (Marilyn) McNichols.

Brian was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Friends called at The Miller Funeral Home, 639 Main Street, Coshocton, Ohio on Tuesday, January 10, 2023, from 5pm to 8pm with a short prayer service ending the evening. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 805 Main Street, Coshocton, Ohio on Wednesday at 11:00 AM with Father Tom Gardner officiating.  Burial followed at Warsaw Cemetery.

A Celebration of Life was held at The Venue at Hidden Spring Farm at 36344 County Road 79, Warsaw, Ohio 43844 at 1:00 PM following the burial. All were invited to attend and encouraged to share stories.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed towards The Brian Reiss Memorial Scholarship Fund (P.O. Box 1595, Coshocton, OH 43812), which will go to a student who plans to excel in the trades. Donations may also be made in Brian’s name to The Coshocton County Animal Shelter.

The family would like to thank Community Hospice of New Philadelphia for their compassionate care, and for going above and beyond, a special thanks to Kaila Cognion.  Thank you for bringing so much joy and laughter to Brian.

Brian was such a light in so many peoples’ lives.  He will be dearly missed by all who were lucky enough to know him.
