Erin Jeanene Collins-Butler

On January 15, 2023, Erin Jeanene Collins-Butler of Portland, Tennessee passed away.  Born to the late Joy (Groves) Collins and Delmas “Jim” Collins of West Lafayette, Ohio on May 21, 1957, she was the youngest of three daughters.  Erin graduated from Ridgewood High School in 1975, was involved in band and choir, and was the field commander of the marching band. Erin studied biology and psychology at Muskingum University and graduated Summa Cum Laude with both her Associate Degree of Paralegal Studies in 2011 and her Bachelor of Legal Studies from Kaplan University in 2012. She and the love of her life, Johnny Butler, shared a very special relationship and she spoke of him often. Johnny passed away on August 27, 2009.  Erin was an active member of the McKendree Memorial United Methodist Church and was a Lay Leader at church, wrote the Servant Pen for the biweekly newsletter, and was devoted to writing weekly scriptures for her church.  She was also a member of the Red Hats and volunteered in the community.  An animal lover, she had a special spot in her heart for French Bulldogs. Erin loved returning to West Lafayette for the Homecoming and the Coshocton County Fair.  Erin is joining her mother Joy (1926-2016), father Jim (1924-2006), sister Holly Rine (1953-2009), and her dear Johnny (1953-2009) in Heaven. She is survived by her sister, Jill Collins, nieces and nephews Jeremy, Brandon, Rob, Haley, McKayla, and Meredith, and her dear friends Ann Bradley and Darlene Gress.

A celebration of life service was held at McKendree Memorial United Methodist Church at 6:30PM on Monday, January 23rd. It was also shared live through the McKendree Memorial United Methodist Church Facebook page.
