Kurtis M. Harstine

Kurtis M. Harstine, 41, formerly of Warsaw, died January 27, 2023.
Kurt was born in Coshocton on December 25, 1981. He was a graduate of River View High School, then received his Bachelor’s Degree from Ashland University, where he was a member of Phi Delta Theta, before going on to earn his Master’s Degree from The Ohio State University. He served in the Army, including tours in Kosovo, Iraq, and Afghanistan. He had been a social worker with MHICM at the Veterans Administration in Mansfield for 13 years where he impacted many lives. He also volunteered with Team Rubicon providing Veteran led disaster relief, and made several mission trips over the years. Kurt loved camping with the kids, and hiking. Even if he was in sandals. And from dirt bikes to motorcycles, you would usually find him on two wheels.
He is survived by his children, Penelope and Milo Harstine of Ashland; mother, Janet (McCormick) Harstine of Warsaw; his sisters, Kendra (Craig) Bordenkircher of West Lafayette, and Kristin (Robert) Harstine of Warsaw; the rest of his family including Kim and Earl Donley of Columbus, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and nieces and nephews, as well as very close friends, Ben and Rachel Hall, and Michelle and Marlene Onely.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Harstine, and his grandparents, Art & Jean (Harstine) Tidball, Shirley (Couts) McCormick, and Robert & Agnes McCormick.
Visiting hours were held from 1-3 and 5-7:00 on Tuesday February 14 at Gospel Hill Ministry, 27610 Township Rd 45 Warsaw, OH 43844, and also one hour prior to the service that took place at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Pastor Ron Davis officiated, and military rights were conducted by the Coshocton County Veterans Council Honor Guard. Burial will take place at a later time.
