RVHS student planning special homecoming dance
River View High School junior Maliya Williams is already planning her senior project. She is going to organize a homecoming dance for the county’s developmentally disabled high school students who might not be able to attend the dance at their high school.
“I would love to invite various schools, such as Coshocton, Hopewell, Tri-Valley, Ridgewood and River View to attend a homecoming dance. I chose to do this because I feel like everyone deserves a night to remember – a night where they get all dressed up and feel their prettiest or handsomest,” Williams said.
While the date hasn’t been decided, yet, Williams is planning to have the dance in September at NewPointe Community Church, in Canal Lewisville. She is asking for donations to help her put on a wonderful evening. She is also asking for donations of dresses for girls to look through and choose one to wear.
“Money would be appreciated for decorations and food costs. Or donations of snacks or water would be greatly appreciated,” said Williams.
Anyone wanting to donate can contact her at 740-502-8838. She is accepting money and dresses now and food/water may be donated closer to the date of the dance.
