Tommy A. Fry
Tommy Arlin Fry, 87, died Sunday, April 2, 2023, at the Genesis Hospice Morrison House in Zanesville.
He was born Jan. 17, 1936 in Roscoe to the late Wilbur Dean and Leora Marie (Brown) Fry. He graduated from Roscoe High School in 1955, and served in the United States Marine Corps from 1956-1960.
Tommy worked for many years as a dragline operator at Boyd’s Gravel, and later for ten years at Buehler’s as a delivery driver. He was a member of Roscoe United Methodist Church, Warsaw Lions Club, the Walhonding Rube Band, and he sang in The Followers Gospel Quartet for twelve years.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Lou (Congdon) Fry of Coshocton, whom he married June 23, 1962; two sons, Edward (Melissa) Fry of New Philadelphia, and William Fry of Beavercreek; a daughter, Leora (Mark) Scheck of North Carolina; six grandchildren; six adopted grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a brother, Donald (Delsie) Fry of Coshocton; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Albert (Elsie) Fry, and C. Richard (Pat) Fry; and his stepmother, Esther Fry.
Calling hours will be held at the Fischer Funeral Home in Warsaw from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, April 6, 2023, including a memorial service by the Warsaw Lions Club. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 7th at the funeral home, with Rev. Bob Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow at Coshocton Co. Memory Gardens, with graveside military rites performed by the Coshocton Co. Joint Veterans Council Honor Guard. www.fischerfuneralhome.com
