Orin Dean Patterson
Orin “Dean” Patterson, 93, of Conesville, passed away Saturday, April 15, 2023 at Altercare of Coshocton.
He was born in Clark (Holmes County) August 26, 1929 to the late Roy and Nellie (Bechtol) Patterson. He was a 1947 graduate of Clark High School. On October 8, 1949, he married Ruth Reed, who he was married to for 67 years before her passing on December 10, 2016.
Dean worked at Steel Ceilings for 18 years and then retired from Coshocton Stainless (Cleveland Cliffs) after 26 years of service. He enjoyed bowling and playing golf, softball and shuffleboard. He and Ruth enjoyed traveling all over the US both during vacations and after retirement, visiting almost all 50 states at least once. Dean was also an avid sports fan of the Cleveland Guardians and Browns, as well as the OSU Buckeyes and all of the local area teams. He especially enjoyed watching his grandkids play sports.
He is survived by a daughter, Wanda (Randy) Zehner, Conroe, TX, and a son, Kenneth (Pam) Patterson, Coshocton; two grandchildren, Stacey (Chuck) Hirsch, and Corey (McCamie) Patterson; two step-granddaughters, Stacy Zehner, and Stephanie (Michael) Langer; three great-grandchildren, Logan & McKenna Hirsch, and Owen Patterson; and two step-great-grandsons, Kolten & Keegan Langer. He is also survived by a brother, Herbert (Norita) Patterson, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife and parents, Dean is preceded in death by four brothers Alfred (Lucille) Patterson, Donovan (Betty) Patterson, Ronald (Helen) Patterson, and George Patterson; two sisters Bernice (Brice) Dreher, and Marjorie Patterson; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Robert (Mary) Reed and Doris (Richard) Swoveland; and four nephews.
Visitation will be held at Fischer Funeral Home in Warsaw on Thursday, April 20, 2023 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Friday, April 21st at 11:00 a.m., with Pastor Peter Wolfgang officiating. Burial will follow at Blissfield Cemetery. www.fischerfuneralhome.com
