Okey Forrest Lockhart

Okey Forrest Lockhart, age 75, passed peacefully in his home Tuesday, April 18, 2023 surrounded by his family.

Born in Parkersburg, West Virginia, he is the son of the late Olin and Letha (Jenkins) Lockhart.  Okey was a longtime resident of Coshocton County and enjoyed many outdoor activities including hunting, fishing, gardening and finding morels and ginseng.  He greatly enjoyed sitting outdoors at the family campsite.  He also was a former basket maker for the Longaberger Basket Company.

He is survived by three daughters, Dawn (Randy) Helmick of Walhonding, Ohio, Amanda (Robert) Chaney of High Springs, Florida and Alyssa Ellison of Louisa, Virginia; nine grandchildren, Chad (Casi) McCoy, Colt (Teagan) McCoy, Allison (Ryan) Reigle, Dylan Harsh, Noah Chaney, Soraya Chaney, Johnathin Myers, Douglas Ellison and Marilyn Ellison; four great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Rick Lockhart and Gary Lockhart.

A Celebration of Life will be held 1:00 – 4:00 P.M. Saturday, April 22, 2023 at 628 Walnut St, Coshocton, Ohio.

Free Funeral Home is assisting the family.
