| May 8, 2023
River View Senior Paige Nicely signed a letter of intent  to play girls golf at The College of Wooster.
“I started golfing in seventh grade with my dad,” she said. “He was the junior high coach. He made me play golf and now I like it. I’ve been golfing all four years and have been on varsity all four years, Captain of the team for three years, sophomore through senior year. I made second team Ohio for golf my freshman and sophomore year, and first team junior and senior year.”
Mom,  Christy Nicely said, “We’re so proud of Paige and her character too. She is kind and sweet and hardworking. With all the work she has done to this point to be able to go to The College of Wooster, we’re excited she is going to play golf. She played in high school and had a great time with it. We’re looking forward to the next four years and her future in teaching.  She plans to major in education and hopes to come back to River View someday.”
Dad, Sean Nicely has coached her since the eight grade. “She has come a long way. I’m happy she will be able to do it in a nice place with a coach and team that are happy together. School wise, she has been incredible and we are happy to get her an academic scholarship. We are very proud of her.”
Grandparents Christy and Jon Mosier said they are so incredibly proud of Paige  “We know she is going to do great things in the future,” Christy said.
“We feel she is going to make a great teacher in four years. She would love to come back and teach here at River View, so it’s a win win,” Jon said. “She is going to a wonderful college and she loves playing golf, so she is going to play golf with them.”
River View Principal  Josh Branch said, “Paige is an outstanding young lady and has established herself. She is a great golfer, a great student and we are excited that she accepted a scholarship to be a math or science teacher. Hopefully we can get her back here at River View and she can join our staff. We always look for graduates that can come back and  are great employees for our school district.”
