Mary Catherine Skarke

Mary Catherine Skarke, 87, of Coshocton, passed away on Sunday, May 14, 2023. She was born on April 30, 1936 in Coshocton to Vernon and Erma (Salrin) McNeely.

Mary graduated from Sacred Heart Catholic School in 1954, and then worked at Ansel Edmont’s for many years sewing. She then worked in research and development at Edmont’s before retiring after 30 years. She was a lifelong member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, and enjoyed traveling, sewing and quilting. She was a member of the Blue Star Mothers, and also enjoyed line dancing, playing cards, bowling, and spending time with her friends and family.

Mary is survived by her four children Terri (Tim) Adams, Mark Skarke, Matthew (Amy) Skarke, and Monica Casey. She is also survived by her six grandchildren Brad Gallion, Todd Gallion, Kelli Clemens, Dale Skarke, Lucas Casey, and Curtis Hammons, as well as eight great-grandchildren. Mary is also survived by her siblings Thomas McNeely, Paul McNeely, and Rita Cannon, and sister-in-law Linda McNeely.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, brother James “Jimmy” McNeely, and an infant sister.

A graveside service was held at South Lawn Cemetery on Friday, May 19, 2023 at 11:00 am.

The family would like to thank all of Mary’s special friends, and caretakers at Community Hospice for taking such great care of her.
